Antique Sextant made by Cary, London.

A fine late 19th century navigators Sextant, engraved on the arc Cary, London. No 2445.

The silver scale reads from -5  degrees to 165 degrees and is divided into 10 minute increments. The index arm has swinging scale magnifier with light duct and glass light diffuser, the silver vernier scale reads from 0 to 10 seconds of arc. 6 inch radius.

This antique Sextant is in exceptional condition and is contained within its original hardwood box. It comes complete with all its accessories - Two telescopes ( one with rack and pinion focussing & spare eye piece ) 2 x telescope sun filters, adjusting pin. This Sextant also has a certificate of examination from the National Physical Laboratory, Kew Observatory which is dated 1901.
